In the past 12 months, Facebook has introduced videos that play silently and automatically when they scroll into view in your Facebook timeline.

Does anyone get that awkward mind blank when an estranged family member at Christmas time basically asks for a life update of 2012? Trying to jazz up your life in an interesting and conversational way when really, you can't even fathom the fact that 2012 has quite literally disappeared never mind generate a friendly response to a very demanding question.
